The Problem
Hotels spend millions perfecting service and still greet most guests as a reservation number. Concierge teams are left Googling names minutes before check-in. Guest profiles are sparse and fragmented. Staff deliver personalization blind.
Mercana generates a 48-hour pre-arrival dossier on every guest: who they are, why they matter, what they care about. We flag VIPs across 15+ categories and catch things properties would otherwise miss. When guests receive that level of pre-arrival personalization, they spend 20–25% more on ancillary services. Mercana makes that repeatable.
The Team
We are a small team. The standard is simple: ship what works and measure whether it did.
One founder spent their career at the intersection of product and engineering, shaping experiences at Meta and as a founding engineer at Cosmos, shipping multiple top-50 App Store products. The other brings a background in quant research and trading, was an early engineer at Clay (where data enrichment proved out as a billion-dollar category), and has published AI research alongside engineering work at Nextdoor and Carbon3D.
We are advised by the co-founder of Morning Brew, Stanford MDs, consumer health veterans, and enterprise startup operators.
